Not gameplay but in the new account I opened I can't seem to get a photo to stay as my avatar? Anyone else had that issue at all? Or is this Zynga just continuing with the torture?
I have of course cleared cache etc etc etc.
Taking me awhile to play catch up but slow and steady wins right? right?
Sigh

Gayle, I know Lisa hasn't had any luck with her avatar. I believe she contacted support, but I'm not sure if they got back to her with anything.

Thanks Carrie I notice quite a few avatars not showing.
I did contact support (Koff koff) and they told me to: yup you guessed , it clear cache restart and then keep clearing cache. I restrained myself with difficulty, thanked them and told them to have a nice day.

Lisa, I used to sell everything that I could. Cate pointed out to me that a lot of times she completes orders so fast and if I remember correctly she told me it because she has all those items still in her inventory.
Cate also told me that if you keep baby bottles (up to 200) in the Inbox you can still use them. When you click on them they will eventually go into your inventory buts it's not immediate.
Yes, I try to fertilize everything that I can when I can. Sometimes it's so hard. I usually only buy Black Arabian horses & Longhorn. I feel like it the cheapest and easiest way to get fertilizer fast. Each animal only takes 6 bottles (since I got some bonus, only takes 5 bottles for each). They both give fertilizer plus regular items (horseshoes & milk).
I wish Zynga would get off their butt and do something about the rest of the Co-op not being able to visit you.

Gayle: I've not been able to change and save my avatar. I had one of the game-generated ones that I wanted to change. Even when I try to put it back, it doesn't save. I've tried countless times, clearing cache, etc. I even looked at the page coding. I can find my game number and the images for my friends, but nothing for the avatar image. So I think some Zynga "genius" removed that image code.
Carrie: Nope haven't heard anything from Zynga on that, either.
Nancy: Thanks for the tips. I buy the Arabian horse as well, but hadn't thought about the Longhorn. I'll try working the envelope to see if it will work again. It worked beautifully back in the day. It really is a shame they don't give FV2 the attention they used to (and that wasn't ever great).
I keep getting neighbor and/or friend requests from you (Cate and Carrie, too) but apparently it doesn't stick. Even my old neighbors don't visit my farm so I'm not sure they can see me, either. I'd like to know if no one can see me how I received requests.
Maybe we should all start over!

Lisa - It is kind of odd that NONE of your neighbors visit you. Even neighbors I don't visit regularly turn up on my farm everyone once in a while to mine the sprinklers. So, I'm thinking you should be seeing some visitors at least every once in a while.
Starting a new farm is an interesting idea. I've had to do it, Gayle is doing it right now. I think someone else in the co-op had to also, but I can't remember who. If you are thinking about going that route, I'd suggest starting a new farm, and keeping your current one. When you get your new farm to level 25 then you could join the co-op with that one in order to test out the invisible neighbor issue we have going on. It would be super interesting to see whether or not your new farm would show on the neighbor bar.
Regarding farm management... I like to use the tree trick for getting up to 40 trees watered by one visitor. But that is kind of a moot point right now for you. Sigh.
Prized animals, I make sure to have six of every animal for a certain item (examples horses for saddles, chickens for brown eggs, pigs for truffles), then I fill the rest of the barn with limited edition animals and bred animals because they give higher XP than the regular animals.
For fertilizer, definitely the Black Arabian Horse. Cate is probably sick of hearing about this, but on my previous farm I had Hampshire Chickens, they gave five fertilizer each even after they were prized. Of course, they were a special sale for Father's Day and as far as I know, they haven't done an animal like that since. I really miss my Hampshire Chickens! Bred animals can give you crazy amounts of fertilizer, the cows too, but they prize out faster than the standard animals.
Yes, I do fertilize everything, you get more harvest for your coin that way.
I have a similar issue with the Keeper's Journal. I think it is with blue ribboning a certain number of grain crops which I have done, but it won't let me complete that task.
Yes, once you open a new expansion, those items should still be in your inventory and you can sell them without having to go back and craft them again.
I can't help with the envelope. Cate explained about leaving the baby bottles that people have sent you in the envelope until you need them. But for me, that has never worked - even taking into account that they might take a while to show up in inventory after accepting them. I could have 50 people send me baby bottles and only 12 will show up in my inventory until I send out another request for bottles. I've come to the conclusion that there are glitches within glitches in this game and some will affect the entire game play for everyone, while others are only specific to a particular farm.

Hi Carrie,
When I began playing this last time, I had one neighbor that came once or twice but that's been it. If I ever do begin getting neighbors I'll have to check out that tree-watering tip.
The game definitely seems to have a mind of its own. Back not long after my mom passed, I'd get friend or neighbor requests from her (she never played FV!) or requests from still alive friends who'd never played.
I seriously thought about starting over mainly so I can apply the things I know now to a new farm. But I spend too much time on this farm as it is when I need to be working on my online shops!
I'm beginning to sell off my prized animals down to about the same number. If I stumble on some that haven't blue-ribboned I'll put them back on my farm. I won't sell any of the limited ones I have just in case. And sometimes they're just so darn cute.
Hampshire Chickens .. I'll have to see if I ever ended up with any of those. Probably not unless I won them somehow. I've never spent a dime on the game and it seemed like back in the beginning there was a way to earn Farm Bucks, but they did away with that a long time ago. I've had the same $143 in FB forever!
I didn't realize that about the bred animals. I'll have to do more of those!
Thanks for the info on the expansion items.
I tested out my envelope. For now it appears it doesn't work the way it used to for me. It was sure nice having a reserve of bottles to go and snag when I needed them. It appears now when someone sends one it goes straight into the inventory. Agreed on the glitches in various farms affecting some but not all.
Random things:
I noticed even back when I was playing my tractor got a "text" glitch in it that seems never was fixed. I can no longer do tasks to earn cards, or whatever they were, so my tractor is useless.
Does anyone do the River Crafting Shack? I tried it back when it first came out, but I could never figure that thing out other than getting things in a line to get whatever they call those "coins". I don't mess with it now at all.
I did the Horse Derby off and on but haven't done it in awhile.

The tree trick is very helpful. It is a bit of extra work, moving the trees around, but not too bad.
I agree, some of the limited availability animals are extremely cute!
Ugh, the tractor. I tried and tried, but I was never able to fix/upgrade it at all. I gave up on it. I hid it behind some trees so I don't have to look at it all the time. LOL
The horse racing... I used to do that pretty regularly, but haven't for probably a year now. But, if you stick with it, there are some good rewards to be earned.
Have you had a chance to read France's post about using the daily farm helpers for watering a grove and a field? It's worth it for sure. It is the most recent post in the Tips & Tricks thread.

I have the tractor tucked between a house and the kitchen (or whatever it's called lol) with a tree in front of it.
I may do the derby again just to use up some of the feed! I keep some trees in front of that. It's so darn big I wish they'd let us store it.
I have a new glitch. The Mud Wallow shows the purple exclamation thingy but I am unable to harvest it. I've tried signing out, clearing out cache, restarting the browser, etc., but nothing is working.
Yes, I saw Frances's post and utilize that when I can.

Lisa,
I don't do the derby thing. I just sell as much of that feed as I can. I'm not one for having so many things going on. I like to concentrate on one thing and get it done. Guess that's why I have so much trouble in getting a lot done.
