If I'm going to be home all day. I plant Kiwi, fairly high xp and only takes 4 hrs. If I'm not going to be home or over night I will plant the Ali watermelon. I have over 20,00 of the watermelon and over 22,000 of Kiwi. That is what I use to get feed. Cate suggested I keep the food I make because when you get orders that call for it, they are all done and that saves time and gets your orders done faster.
The only thing I really sell to get coins (besides the purple clock thing on Carries farm) is objects that I've had to make for a quest (especially seasonal stuff) like all the Christmas stuff. Or the broken pottery, etc. that you get from the mine.
I don't hardly ever worry about the heirloom trees unless a quest calls for them. I store the elder trees (can't even remember why I'm keeping them). LOL
There is tons of stuff in my inventory that I can't use or sell. That is one thing I wish Zynga would fix..everything I have in inventory should be able to be sold.
